acrylic, indian ink, estapol, broken glass on canvas

created a curved line of broken glass using craft glue, then covered one side of the canvas (bottom side) in torn up paper, to make it uneven...
then completely covered the top side in estapol... painting into it with large amounts of yellow and white acrylic...
then ran red indian ink along the line of glass letting it seep through the glue and down the other side of the canvas.... picked up bits of the red ink and brought it onto the top part of the canvas to make it more colourful..

this is probably my favourite painting for the year.. i love it
comments would be greatly appreciated

Nice. Especially the very Bright Streak across the upper half of the paintint. Not the style of painting that usually does it for me, but it works:)

I am not usually inclined to view such abstract art, but the presentation, vivid colours and energy of this piece compel me otherwise.

Great emotional context.

I would, (and this also surprised me) rather live in this world with all it's great problems, and all it's beautiful protests against those problems... than in a world that was free from conflict.

the colours are electric; makes the whole piece seem alive and filled with energy. the glass line almost seems like it's the dividing bar, as though what is above it is a separate notion from what is below, but the glass is what keeps the two together. maybe it's what i've been watching lately but it reminds me of something religious almost, as though the upper half is the pure, but then below is the leftover, the remains, or the darkness and the worlds collides, naturally because worlds of that great of difference cannot coexist without colliding at some point, which is where the little drops of the darker splatter remind me of blood splatter, to think if it's all worth it, and the brighter yellow has fallen through to the bottom too; or just a freeze frame of battle, but i like to over read things. really beautiful in anycase

oh my goodness.... lol
thats insane.. i can see where u are comin from tho... someone else has said that about it too.. the whole religeous battle thing... a theme which comes thru in many of my paintings...
